The villa’s position in the heart of Moraira posed some challenges. The main entrance faces the busy street, while the other side fronts onto velvet sands and the undulating blues of the sea. To maintain a sense of paradisiacal privacy, the Blakstad team kept the street side rather nondescript and focused the design on the coastal views. The footprint hugs an inviting swimming pool, and the result feels like a blissful retreat tucked into pure nature when, in fact, all the amenities of the bustling seaside town are within walking distance, including some of the region’s most well-respected traditional restaurants.
Every angle of Villa Mares del Tiempo speaks to expertly crafted spaces, encompassing traditional Ibiza design with ingenuity and contemporary sophistication. Blakstad’s signature approach is evident in the villa’s clean lines, flawless whitewashed walls, bespoke carpentry with hand-forged fixtures, exposed wood beams, and swathes of natural light illuminating spacious interiors.
The six elegant bedrooms at Villa Mares del Tiempo are bathed in sunlight and feature oversized stone tiles buffed to a smooth polish. Enormous steel-framed glass doors open onto covered porches, which in turn spill onto a lush lawn, beyond which the sea gently laps at the shoreline. The living and dining areas seamlessly open to the high-spec kitchen on one side and another lovely patch of lawn on the other. Plush sofas look out through sliding glass doors to the mature Mediterranean gardens, from where a set of stone steps leads to the beach.
Of course, the primary suite is total perfection, featuring breathtaking sea views, a private terrace, a walk-in dressing space, and an opulent bathroom designed for complete indulgence. Kids are well catered for with a dedicated room full of playful motifs, including a tented bed. As expected, the exterior spaces are an extension of the interiors, offering a unified flow created for maximum enjoyment.
The outdoor areas echo the villa’s interior harmony, with three expansive terraces crowned by flowering bougainvillea, providing the ideal location for sun-dappled lunches and starlit dinners, afternoon siestas, and a dash of very deep relaxation.
