I\u2019ve always had a connection to the island because we came here for every vacation. I was born in Madrid but my maternal family are from Ibiza. My grandparents, uncles and cousins were all born here. We only lived in Madrid because of my parents\u2019 work.<\/p>\n

Where and what did you study to become a draughtswoman?<\/strong><\/p>\n I did a degree in draughting, specialising in building and construction in Madrid. It was a long time ago though and I think that course has probably changed a lot since then!<\/p>\n What influenced you to choose this career?<\/strong><\/p>\n I always loved to draw and I kind of fell into it.<\/p>\n What does a normal day look like for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n I draw most of the day and make sure that our work functions in the way that it should. It might not seem special to some people, but I find it super fun.<\/p>\n What do you like most about your job?<\/strong><\/p>\n The best part is seeing the finished houses. To see a project\u2019s progression from scratch or to see how a renovation transforms along the way is very rewarding. I especially like to see a finca before the renovation and then to see it afterwards. It\u2019s spectacular and very satisfying.<\/p>\n What do you find more challenging?<\/strong><\/p>\n Measuring a house is sometimes very complicated. It\u2019s like putting together a puzzle and figuring out where all the pieces go.<\/p>\n What does architecture mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n I think the purpose of architecture is to make life easier, more comfortable and safer. I love to see how we can integrate all of the current comforts into an old home without altering its essence.<\/p>\n What do you like about working at Blakstad?<\/strong><\/p>\n I love our working environment and, of course, the work itself. We have a lot of fun.<\/p>\n Is there a project that you are particularly proud of?<\/strong><\/p>\n Truthfully, I am happy with everything we have done. I learn something new from each project.<\/p>\n What do you like most about Ibiza?<\/strong><\/p>\n Everything! My family is here, my husband is from here and my daughters were born here. I love the tranquillity of the island and the difference between summer and winter. I am very family-oriented. We go to the beach together a lot or for a walk, or a drink on a terrace somewhere.
