His self-directed and dogged research connected\u00a0Ibiza’s\u00a0architecture with other Mediterranean styles, influencing future scholars like Blakstad Architects and Design Consultants\u00a0founder,\u00a0Rolph Blakstad.<\/p>\n The onset of the Spanish Civil War in 1936\u00a0ignited his natural disgust of authoritarianism\u00a0and\u00a0he joined the Republican cause\u00a0mounting\u00a0an anti-Franco committee in Ibiza.
